Why is Roof Reviver(TM) better than other brands?

A- Roof Reviver(TM) is EPA Registered and contains natural minerals designed only for roof cleaning. Other cleaners contain chlorine and lye which are very poisonous. Roof Reviver(TM) is also approved by GAF, Elk and Owens Corning, the largest shingle makers in the USA.

Why is choosing an EPA Registered cleaning product important?

A- EPA Registered products undergo rigorous testing by the US Government. Their effectiveness for killing algae, moss and fungus is guaranteed by the Government. Unregistered products may do little or nothing to kill moss, algae or fungus and might be a waste of money.

Will Roof Reviver(TM) kill my plants and flowers?

A- Its very unlikely. If plants are accidentally sprayed, you can rinse them with water as a precaution.

Is Roof Reviver(TM) safe for my pets?

A- Yes. Your pet will not be harmed by the product. However, pets should be kept indoors during the cleaning process.

What happens if I get it on my skin?

A- Roof Reviver(TM) will never burn your skin. You may rinse it off with cold water as a precaution.

What problem areas does Roof Reviver(TM) address?

A- Black stains, moss, algae, fungus, dirt and grime that are destroying the roof

material.

Will the roof become slippery after I apply Roof Reviver(TM)?

A- Yes! Use safety gear if you plan on walking on the roof. When possible, stay off the roof, or use our special electric pump. It applies the product from the ground.

How long should the product be on the roof before it rains?

A-Its best to wait until rain is not expected for 2-3 days. This allows time for the product to work.

I have a cistern that is fed from my roof and gutters. Will the product poison my water supply?

A- Roof Reviver(TM) will not poison the water, but the dead algae might. All downspouts that feed the cistern should be disconnected during the cleaning process. This applies to both the Gradual and Instant Removal Process.

How will I know when to reconnect the downspouts?

A- If using the Gradual Removal Process, its generally safe to reconnect them after 2 inches of rainfall. If using the Instant Removal Process, you may connect them after the roof is thoroughly rinsed. **We suggest you take a water sample to your local County Extension Office or Health Department for a free analysis to be sure!

Is it possible to over apply the product and damage the roof?

A- The product will not hurt the roof, no matter how strong you mix it.

Should Roof Reviver(TM) be mixed with warm or cold water?

A- Both warm and cold water are fine. Warm water will allow the product to dissolve a bit easier.

What type of roof will the product work on?

A- Shingles (asphalt and fiberglass), clay tile, concrete tile, composite shakes, wood shakes.

What surfaces should not be sprayed with Roof Reviver(TM)?

A- If overspray gets on glass or unpainted aluminum, rinse it off with water.

What's the minimum temperature I can apply it?

A- Roof Reviver(TM) should not be used below 40 degrees.

What is the best way to apply Roof Reviver(TM)?

A- You can use a 2 gallon pump-up type sprayer, if you don't mind getting on the roof. If walking on the roof is not for you, we sell an electric pump that applies the product without getting on the roof.

When is the best time to apply it?

A- Avoid the hottest part of the day. Mid morning or late afternoon are best.

Should I pre-wet the roof before I apply Roof Reviver(TM)?

A- No. The roof should remain dry until you spray it.

My roof has black streaks that don't really bother me. Is it that big of a deal?

A- Actually, yes. If left untreated algae and moss damage the roof beyond repair. The cost for a new roof will bother you.

How long can Roof Reviver(TM) stay on the shingles before I need to rinse it off?

A- You can leave the product on as long as you want. It won't hurt the shingles.

How long is the product good after I mix it?

A- It will stay active for up to 4 hours. After 4 hours you should discard it.

I have a new roof. Will Roof Reviver(TM) prevent black stains?

A- Absolutely. Using the product will keep black stains from ever forming.

My roof is very steep. Won't most of the product end up in the gutters?

A- It might. We make a thickening agent for steep roof applications called Steep Roof Additive(TM). Its a liquid you add to the mixture that makes Roof Reviver(TM) stick to steep shingles.

How do I get instant results?

A- After the product has been applied, wait 1 hour for it to dry. Attach our low pressure tool to your pressure washer and rinse the shingles thoroughly. Use safety gear! The roof will be slippery! When you are finished the roof will look like brand new. Don't worry. The tool will not remove the granules or damage the shingles. If you'd rather have someone else do it, we can recommend a professional contractor.

How does the "Gradual Removal Process" work?

A- The GRP kills algae, moss and fungus on contact, but rinsing is done entirely by the rain. Don't expect to see a clean roof for several weeks. This process is good for budget minded customers who don't mind waiting longer for results.

What's the best way to deal with thick roof moss?

A- Apply Roof Reviver(TM) to the moss and that's it. In a few days the moss will turn brown and rinse off the roof on its own. You may also remove the dead moss with a leaf blower or broom, once it turns brown.

How long will my unused product stay good?

A- If kept dry it will last for at least 5 years. Avoid freezing temps.

I'm using the Gradual Removal Process without rinsing. After I applied Roof Reviver(TM) the shingles looked worse than before. Why?

A- This is normal and shows the product is working. The foaming action brings dirt, algae and grime up to the surface of the shingles. After the first rainfall the roof will look much better.
